About Us
A Legacy of Faith. A Commitment to Justice. A Vision for the Future.
The National Faith and Justice Council (NFJC) is a unified body of denominational leaders, bishops, clergy, and aligned faith institutions committed to serving as a trusted moral, spiritual, and civic anchor for our communities.
Rooted in the enduring witness and resilience of the Black Church, we exist to strengthen faith, uphold truth, cultivate accountability, and advance justice, equity, and generational well-being for all people.
In a time marked by division, disinformation, institutional distrust, and growing inequities, NFJC was established to bring faith leaders together in collective purpose and principled action. We believe the Church remains one of the most influential and trusted institutions within our communities, uniquely positioned to inspire hope, mobilize people, and shape lasting change.
Our Purpose
We convene and unite African American-led denominational leadership to address the pressing spiritual, civic, social, and economic challenges impacting our communities.
Through collaboration, education, advocacy, and faithful witness, we work to:
Our work is not driven by political partisanship, but by a sacred responsibility to pursue righteousness, justice, and the common good.
Our Foundation
NFJC is grounded in the belief that faith and civic responsibility are deeply connected.
We believe:
We recognize the historic role of the Church as more than a place of worship. For generations, the Church has served as a center for spiritual guidance, civic engagement, advocacy, education, economic support, and community restoration.
Today, we continue that legacy by equipping leaders and congregations to move from awareness to action—mobilizing communities, strengthening institutions, and advancing meaningful impact.
